In a trend that is changing the landscape of the real estate market, single women are becoming homeowners at a rate never seen before. It's a trend that is reversing the traditional pattern, in which women wait to get married before taking the plunge into the housing market. There is also the instance where a woman has experienced a life altering circumstance, like divorce or death of a spouse and has made the decision to downsize to a home of her own.
One of my clients recently said, "It makes me think I made a smart financial decision and I'm on my way to creating financial stability for my future."
One reason for this growing trend, is that single women appear to be more inclined to "nest" than single men. Another factor is the social change that comes from women gaining financial clout in the workforce.
Women are much more independent today. Women are marrying later in life, that is, if they choose to marry alt all. They are much less reliant on a man to be the sole provider because they have their own money.
Women whose marital life has changed due to divorce or death of spouse choose to move to a smaller living space that does not require as much time, money and work to maintain, giving them for independence.
With all this information I along with 7 of my associates are hosting an event for women who want to explore the ways to gain more financial independence through real estate, financial planning, downsizing and to understand all the legal issues concerning personal investment in real estate, the importance of having an up to date will. We will also guide you through organizing, decluttering and redesigning your "nest". Come to this event for a fun informative evening.
